Bimmerparty 4.-6.8.2023 at Kalajoki airport, Finland

The event is aimed at BMW car owners and those interested in them. The underlying idea is to gather BMW enthusiasts together in one place to race up against each other in various competitions, not to forget socializing and other entertainment in good company. The Bimmerparty event has been organized since 2002, in its early years under the name Bimmerfest. The event area has always been the Kalajoki small plane airport, about 130km south of Oulu along the coast. In addition to the competitions, there is a lot of program on both days around both BMW hobby and the festival atmosphere.

Owners of other brands of cars are also welcome to the event. The event area itself is so-called “BMW parking only” so with a car of another brand, you can’t get there. However, a separate parking space has been reserved for other brands of cars next to the entrance to the event area.

The event is organized by the Bimmer Tuning Club of Finland Ry (BTCF). Entrance is free for those coming from abroad.

• Age limit 18 years
• The best group staying in the Bimmerparty camping area will be awarded the Spirit of Bimmerparty award! The selection criteria include ambiance and attitude, camp decorations and props, and general cleanliness of the area.
• From BTCF sales you will find official Bimmerparty T-shirts and other BTCF products
• ABSOLUTELY FORBIDDEN IS to
  • DRIVE under the influence of alcohol or drugs with any motor vehicle
  • BURN RUBBER in the BP area and elsewhere, such as in the cottage village
  • Go on the runway (except when racing)
  • Take glass bottles near competition venues
  • Possess of all kinds of edged weapons, blunt weapons, etc.
  • Rule breakers will be removed from the area and illegalities will be reported to the police!
• IT IS RECOMMENDED to
  • Use plastic bottles and cans, as they are recyclable and do not create shards of glass
  • Put trash in plastic bags/trash cans also on the stand areas
  • Trash cans and toilets are on site for you!

* (xx:xx) Registration and transfer of cars/equipment to the competition ends. Mandatory driver’s meeting for those participating in the competition.

Accommondation

Accommodation at the event venue.

The accommodation area adjacent to the field is intended for tent, motorhome, and caravan accommodation. Unfortunately, there are no power spots on that area for motorhomes or caravans.

• The accommodation area opens on Friday at 13:00 and you can stay until Sunday at 20:00.
• No separate accommodation fee. The opportunity to stay is included in the ticket price.
• Accommodation in passengers cars is prohibited.
• Accommodation is only allowed in designated areas. Accommodation in the forest area is prohibited.
• The minimum distance between vehicles and tents is 4 meters.
• Making an open fire is prohibited. Also, a gas grill is counted as an open fire.
• Electric grills are allowed. However, note that there is no electrical connection available from the organizer.
• There is no water point in the area.
• Emptying motorhome and caravan septic tanks into the terrain is prohibited on penalty of a fine. This is always reported as an environmental crime. There is a septic tank dump on the area!
• Also, the disposal of grey waters (e.g., hot tubs and swimming pools) into the terrain of the area is prohibited.
• In case of oil or other liquid leaks, contact the event organizers as soon as the damage occurs. The organizer has oil spill equipment in the area.
• Generators must be in a fire-safe place and they must not disturb anyone.
• Keep the accommodation area clean and clean up your area before departure.
• There are waste bins all over the accommodation area.
• Do not leave your car on the driveway!
• The accommodation area is open until 20:00 on Sunday. There is no hurry to leave if you doubt your driving ability.

Cottage areas

The first bookings for cottages are made already during the previous year, so you should be on the move early with cottage booking. There are several cottage providers on the area, through which you can ask for accommodation. There is no arranged transport from the event area to the cottage areas.

Driving directions

The event venue is the Kalajoki small plane airport. The municipality of Kalajoki is located about 130 kilometers south of Oulu along the coast. For example, the distance from Jyväskylä to Kalajoki is about 280 kilometers, from Helsinki about 550 kilometers, from Turku about 500 kilometers, and from Rovaniemi about 340km. Kalajoki has other things to offer for the participants who have started the journey, for example, Kalajoki sand dunes, which are about a 1-2 kilometer walk from the event area. You can find all the necessary services from the center of Kalajoki and from Hiekkasärkät, such as grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, spa, etc.

The airport is about five kilometers south of the center of Kalajoki, and you turn there from the Kokkola Road (Road E8). The airport is accessed from the intersection of the ABC gas station and it is on the opposite side of E8 than ABC. The guide sign reads “Lentokenttä / Event Park”.
